Lighted cabinets are “back-lit.” They look like normal signs during the day while the lights inside the cabinet shines through the letters and makes them easy to read at night. Value cabinets use pan-formed, acrylic or flex-face panels on the front and back. A more elegant design can be achieved by painting the cabinet face and mounting translucent letters or graphics from the inside.
While older lighted cabinets used florescent bulbs, modern ones use LEDs. This not only reduces energy requirements, but because LEDs last much longer than traditional bulbs they minimize service calls to replace burned out lights.
All out lighted cabinet signs are built in-house from non-rusting aluminum and are designed to last for years. For multi-unit property owners lighted cabinets make sense since the acrylic panels can be quickly changed out for new clients without the expense of a new sign.
