Godfrey Hotel Awning Signs, Chicago
The Godfrey Hotel in downtown Chicago is designed to be a landmark spot with a unique design. Therefore, the awning signs we had to create for it were not a “typical” project.
The projecting blade sign is over a 12′ x 26′ all-aluminum construction with LED illuminated push thru acrylic letters. The sign connects to the cantilevered canopy that is suspended below the wall of the parking garage and has a built in LED light bar to illuminate the walk, provisions for security cameras, music speakers, and concealed rain gutters.
Installed in January in spite of the daily 0 degree temperatures and snow – with the assistance of World Sign Association member North Shore Signs in Libertyville, Illinois.
Still to be installed are 2 sets of 48″ tall halo-illuminated channel letters that start at about the 15th story and run down the building, parking, garage, and rooftop lounge outdoor signage.
